My friends Freya and Siebe and I have been talking about doing a road trip to southern Spain. We decided to go when they had some time off during Semana Santa (holy week). Freya's friend Sammy flew over from England to join us. It was a five day trip. Our first stop was Malaga. We spent two nights there and then went on to Jerez for another two nights.
Semana Santa is a huge deal everywhere in Spain. It's the major holiday of the year. There are fraternities in all the big towns that do processions at all hours of the day and night. There are so many people in the street it can be hard to get around. We had a fabulous time! We ate a lot of great food and even made it to the beach a couple of times. We had some time to hang out in El Masroig before and after the trip. Here are some pictures!

We had a lot of time to visit in the car. I learned that neither Freya nor Sammy have middle names. So, by the power vested in me by the Great State of Texas, I give you Freya Sue and Samantha Lou!

We had late dinner at a place called "PerroLoco" (crazy dog) in Malaga. The food was excellent.
Finca Alta. Bud break was two weeks late this year. We had the same thing in Texas. Not sure why.
