Our ship has come in!

At long last, our first container of Barcelona Celler has arrived in Houston. Our distributor, RNDC, should be picking up some pallets in the next and you should be able to find it in Twin Liquors the first week of August. This has been quite an adventure. The wines were bottled the last week of May and left Barcelona in a 40' refrigerated container on June 24. The ship docked in Houston on July17 and it took five days (not bad) to get it through Customs.
The picture below is the actual ship the container sailed on. The ship is 2205 feet long (over 6 football fields) and will carry over 1500 containers like the one I used. It's mind boggling (my mind, anyway) how big and fast these things are.
All is well here in El Masroig. Susan really likes our new place. We're expecting Holly and Brent from Austin to visit in a few days. It appears the vineyards had a little hail damage back in June. I hate to see it but it's nothing catastrophic. On the other hand, there is a rumor that Torres' vineyard in El Lloar suffered a 30% loss so things could have been a lot worse.
Nerea Guiu, our graphic designer, has been helping us with the label for the estate wine. We're making some progress and, so far, Susan approves. I'm trying to get all the materials lined up so we can bottle toward the end of the year.
By the way, the bottle shot below was done by the very talented Rusty Ray. Thanks, Rusty!
